Number of Keywords on a Webpage for SEO

They are one of the main elements of optimizing your website and they must be paid attention to. However, many people overlook some of the smaller details with keywords that end up making a big difference in your success.
It’s easy for people to want to do too much with SEO. That’s because of how easy it is to implement SEO tactics onto your website all by yourself. All you need to do is add some keywords here and there, and then viola, you will get ranked highly. Right? Well, not exactly, and the truth is that many people do more harm than good when they assume that SEO is this basic.
SEO is actually very refined. Maybe a decade ago you could get away with doing anything that was related to search engine optimization and see success. There was such little competition, and so few tried and true tactics, that anything you tried to do would help you succeed.
However, these days SEO is a much more precise science. There is a tried and true way to get your website to rank highly. The problem is most people don’t give any attention to the finer details. You can’t use every keyword on each page of your site. If you think about it, this strategy only reduces your association with each individual keyword.
In addition to this, when you try to include too many keywords on a single web page you will end up looking like spam to both visitors and the search engines themselves. Therefore, with SEO and the usage of keywords, a simpler, more laid back approach is necessary. You want to target fewer keywords per page as opposed to all of them or almost all of them.
Now that you know that less is more, what’s the answer for how many keywords should be on a single page for maximum SEO success? There is no guaranteed answer that is going to ensure you a perfect mix, however targeting 2 or 3 keywords on a single web page is usually the best idea. For pages with less content you’ll want to reduce that to 1-2 keywords, and for pages with a great deal of content you can target a few more.
When you divide your keywords up onto individual pages like this for SEO, then you’ll be able to target each and every one of them more effectively. If you have 20 web pages on your site and 50 keywords, you can dedicate each page to two or three of them, expanding your scope and your presence in the search engines.
SEO has evolved a great deal over the last decade. You can’t try to rank every single web page on your website for every single keyword that you’re targeting. Instead, break up your keyword list and focus on 2 or maybe 3 keywords on a single page in order to maximize your success in the search engines.
