More Amazing Features Of A Webinar Service

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

This article is a continuation of a series of articles I have been doing featuring webinars. Webinars are my favorite technique in making money online for numerous reasons. Here are a few more great reasons why I believe webinars are the future, not just for home internet businesses such as my own, but for just about every kind of business model.

1. More control over interaction

If you want the ultimate control over interaction on a presentation look no further than a webinar. If you have ever tried to interact on a teleseminar you know the challenges. As soon as you try to un-mute the bridge, if you have hundreds of people on the line, a significant amount of background noise and feedback is heard. You cannot even hear any questions being asked. In one case in particular, we heard a guy on the line yelling at his wife. He did not realize we could hear him, but we certainly could because he was not muted.

You have very little issues with interaction control on a webinar. You have the ability to field questions with no interruption to the presentation whatsoever. You do not have to worry about dealing with background noise and feedback because everyone remains muted out. You decide who gets to speak and who is silent.

2. No long distance charges

This is a great benefit. Teleseminars often have long distance charges, especially if you are dialing in from a country other than the one the conference bridge is located in. On my webinar service we have participants all over the world. As long as they have an internet connection they can join my teleseminar without needing any special equipment. This also comes in handy at the end of the call because I do not have to worry about price sensitivity to my sales pitch due to the costs associated with getting on the call.

3. Send people directly to your website

One of the best benefits to a webinar is the ability to send the participants right to your sales page. If you are selling an information product you can direct them right to the page where they can order on a webinar. With a teleseminar, they have to hang up the phone, go to their computer and visit your website. All of these steps are barriers to the sales process. If they get distracted you might not make the sale. These distractions are minimized when you use a webinar service. After all, they are already online. They are already connected. You just send them right to your website. This works even with an offline business. If you offer professional services, you can send them to a place on your website where they can schedule an appointment with you.

So the moral of the story? Everyone, regardless of your product, service, or industry, should be using webinars. It does not matter if you have an offline or online business everyone can use webinars.

Conversion Tracking with Google Adwords Campaigns

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

The next step after you’ve selected your keywords and written a compelling ad is to track your conversions. Any Adwords campaign would not be successful if users do not have the tools for tracking conversions.

A common way to track conversions is to look at your landing page hits and your sales quantity for a given period. However, Google provides Adwords advertisers some tools to automate the process. Below are some guidelines for tracking your conversions with Google Adwords.

First, you’ll need to embed your conversion link using JavaScript. If you are using a shopping cart or other type of setup where the buyer receives a confirmation as part of their checkout process, your best bet is to use some JavaScript code that gets sent back to the Google Adwords tracker.

Using this method will allow you track the number of complete conversions for each ad. This tool, however, does not show you the number of visitors to the site. After placing the code in your website, you can then access the tracking reports under ‘Campaign Summary’ page in Google Adwords.

There are only two conditions for the above method to work and track your conversions accurately. The first is that you should be running approved Adwords ads on your site and the second condition is you should place the code only in your conversion page.

You can verify if the code is working by completing a complete conversion yourself. If you can find out exactly when a user has clicked on your ad and completed the conversion process, you can review your conversion reports within 24 hours and see the click-through on the report summary. Avoid clicking your own ads, as this is a breach of the Google Adwords terms of service contract.

You can still track your conversions if you are using a payment checkout system, like PayPal. PayPal and most other systems offer a conversion confirmation webpage wherein you can insert your Adwords tracking code. You will have a record of all conversions or sales once a customer successfully completes the checkout process.

Authors Sarah Milstein, J.D. Biersdorfer and Mathew McDonald of the book “Google: The Missing Manual”, explain that it’s also important to determine your total cost-per-conversion over any given campaign period.

This information will tell you the actual costs of generating a sale with your campaign. To calculate this, match the number of conversions with the total cost of campaign for a certain period.
