A Serious Entrepreneur Should Have…

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

If you’re prepared to be one of the successful and serious entrepreneur online, there’s one thing that you should be prepared to invest, and that is the time to do the work this industry will demand from you.

Each business venture should come with a master plan - that it’s true enough. But if you have the best plan ever made with the most creative and innovative solutions for the problems of today’s market, it would not mean much if you do not have time to implement it. This is related to another reason why many entrepreneurs fail to get their businesses up. It’s because they spend too much time attempting to come up with the ideal business plan, but not particularly doing anything to apply the plan.

The web Community and the serious businessman

The web has opened many doors and opportunities for business ventures, and in better times, too, when company jobs were more secure and worth the agony of working for somebody else.

Dabbling around and flitting in and out of your internet enterprise venture was simply a ‘hobby’, or something to do in your spare time to make an extra buck. With the way in which the economy is going and with the certainty of your job on the line, it could be time to take your online business a touch more seriously.

One can argue that their net business has not given them an identical quantity of money a regular paycheck has. But when you start this argument, try to be fair. Have you spent an identical quantity of time on it as you have your ‘day job’?

Why you must go surfing

Online businesses are the only types of companies these days that are surviving the typhoons of the economy, and the reason is that it has effectively rid itself of lots of the reasons for business screw ups in actuality. The innovativeness, dynamism, and adaptability of the net market extend not only to the major entrepreneur, but his target audience, too. It is the height of cost-efficiency that even small players have an opportunity of making it big.

What you don’t need to become a heavy businessman for a web business venture is a large 1st capital investment. If you are ready to build from the bottom up, all you really need to start a Web business, to reiterate, is TIME. The well-liked exclaiming is that Rome was not built in a day, and neither will your business. Many folks can truthfully claim that they have made plenty of money in a day, but you have to think about that they didn’t build the businesses that made them that amount of cash in a day.

Patience and endurance

When Thomas Edison was making the light bulb, he did not create it the first time the concept came to his head, nor the second. But he succeeded in ultimately inventing it by trying repeatedly again and never accepting defeat. Hence, his famous quote: “I have not failed, I’ve only found one of the 10,000 methods that it won’t work.”

if you’d like to be a serious businessman, this is the sort of perspective that you must have. It’s also okay to use another famous line when you do not succeed the 1st time, and that is to ‘go back to the drawing room.’ Changing methods and strategies are fine, but never lose focus. If you have selected your destination, always choose the paths that may take you there. The sole way to be a serious entrepreneur is to think, act, and work like one.

How to Add Audio to Your Web Site

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Adding audio to your website can be easily overdone.

Any audio that you add to your site must support your overall marketing message.

Adding audio to a website full of low-quality information will not do much to improve your conversion rate. However, relevant and compelling content can stand out even more with the careful use of audio.

Careful use of website audio will allow you to:

- Help increase your newsletter signups

- Help increase your conversion rates

- Add testimonials to your site in order to support your products

- Provide trust and confidence

- Advertise supplemental info as in a podcast

Using audio should never be a substitute for:

- Generating quality content

- Writing using profitable keyword phrases

- On-page factors such as META tags

- Building a comprehensive inbound link program

Ken Evoy, President of Sitesell, tested audio on several of his landing pages and found an improved conversion rate of 15-30%. My own newsletter registrations went up by almost 20% when I added an audio snippet to the registration page.

The real question to ask when you feel the need to add an audio button to any particular page is this:

“Will the audio enhance my visitor’s experience and increase the likelihood of them completing a registration or purchase?”

If the answer is ‘yes’, then adding audio may help improve the overall goal of the page.

Where are the best places to consider using audio?

- Homepage

- Your ezine signup page

- Your service summary page

- Profitable product pages

Once you decide to add audio, there are a few tools you will need to obtain. Here are my recommendations.

The first piece of equipment you will need is a microphone. You must have a way to convert your voice (an analog signal) to a digital signal that your computer can process and edit.

I recommend a USB microphone as virtually every computer these days will have multiple USB ports.

For voice recording, you can find many decent USB microphones in the $20-30 range through Amazon.com.

Once you have selected your microphone, the next step is to install an audio editing program so that you can alter the bass/treble as well as cut and edit portions of the audio and finally, to export your audio file as an MP3.

I recommend a program called Audacity. Audacity is a free piece of software that is of high-quality and offers all the basic editing tools you will ever need. No need to pay for a commercial program when something as good as Audacity exists.

Check out the Audacity website and follow the directions for downloading the program. Audacity comes in several versions depending on your operating system and whether you own a Mac or a PC.

The final item to obtain is a good quality audio player that you will embed into the web page containing the audio.

I recommend a player that was originally developed for Wordpress. It is called 1pixelout and you can Google this phrase in order to download the player. The great news is that this player is free of charge.

Use website audio in moderation and you’ll find it can add quality to the visitor’s browsing experience and improve conversion rates. Audio can be a great way to build the trust and confidence of your site visitors.

Using Web Video Marketing To Enhance Profits

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Using web video marketing to enhance profits is becoming increasingly popular and is actually starting to show strong value. Marketing on sites like YouTube is an easy way to breathe new life into marketing campaigns. It works by bringing your prospect closer to your product, your website, and your business through personal inclusion.

Using a web video marketing campaign to increase sales starts with professionalism. You don’t have to be boring or lack engagement in order to be successful. Rather, you need to produce a high resolution video that lends itself to professional marketing. Avoid small devices for recording like cell phone clips, as these tend to be obviously unprofessional.

Shooting a web marketing video on a phone or other poor pixel resolution device is not recommended. While some internet entrepreneurs have done this, the expectation for quality has risen among consumers. Shooting it with a simple digital video recorder is fast, easy, and can produce professional results.

Your business can benefit from web video marketing because it puts you, the face of your business, into the offices and living rooms of the consumer. This is not far from the concept of televised commercials. If you educate your audience on something relevant, like your product, service, or your business, in a way that they can relate to they are twice as likely to buy from you.

Reaching your audience still takes a certain amount of keyword optimization. Some of the most successful web video marketing campaigns use articles to initially bring their page in front of the consumer and then use the video to reach the consumer on a more personal level. Remember that the internet is a platform made of sights and sounds, so every aspect of your campaign from articles to video quality can help you draw in more consumers.

Your audience will appreciate your candor when you submit your web video marketing campaign. You don’t want to come across like a used car sales person shouting into the lens. You can use humor, if appropriate or you can simply talk to the camera as though you were talking to your most respected client. Avoid bad taste joke, off color commentary, and certainly get someone to review your video for your first efforts.

The success of a web video marketing campaign is in your hands. You can develop a whole slew of web videos or you can simply repost the same one. Many internet entrepreneurs choose to create different videos to reach different audiences. Demographics still play a key role, and you can reach those demographics regardless of what type of internet business you are running.

The One Traffic Tool Every Product Owner Should Be Using…

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Content wears the kings crown and gets to sit on the throne. It also rules the universe. Content truly is royalty when it comes to producing sales, gaining trust and establishing credibility. As it is not a good idea to advocate you stop providing quality information to your list of subscribers, another list is one composed of those who could care less about content.

“What is this type of list?” you ask. - The “announcement list”. Since 2002, I’ve been lecturing about the announcement list - on record at an event, no less. But this is still a highly unused asset for most marketing folks. That is because no one is telling you it works. Therefore, no one knows much about it, nor do they know how to create this type of list effectively. With that in mind, let’s talk about it.

——————————————————-

What Is An “Announcement” List?

——————————————————-

DEFINED: A list with the sole intention to inform when something new is ready for consumption, purchase or review. It announces “Come check this out, XYZ has just been released!” When you first think about this, you probably think, “Why would I even consider joining a list that is only a sales pitch and has no content?” Said that way, it really doesn’t appeal to me either. But we aren’t going to say it that way so How do you say it?…

——————————————————-

How About An Example “Announcement” List?

——————————————————-

When visiting my site you’ll find a great example of this. PLRSO stands for Private Label Rights Special Offers and the site was established solely for the intention of informing the subscribers whenever there are new Private Label Rights offers available for them to purchase.

That’s it. I don’t send out ezine articles to them. No newsletters. They don’t get blog posts. There aren’t any special reports. No content of any kind. What they get, in essence, are sales messages. And there are already 2,822 subscribers, many of which have already purchased some of the PLR special offers that have been “announced” to the list.

And how, does it work! Here are some of the reasons…

1. Using an in-demand product (PLR) and allowing people to get ahead of the competition by learning about these new products FIRST by subscribing to the list

2. It’s not billed as an “announcement list”, but rather a “Free PLR Club”. Big, big difference in perception.

3. I get it a domain which further adds to the importance and value.

4. Joining does not commit one to buying. Purchase what interests you and pass those that don’t.

5. An example of cost is provided with what you can purchase presently. This further shows the “value” of the complementary membership.

And here’s the big twist that makes this idea of creating an “announcement” list a complete no-brainer…I allow my affiliates to “give away” no cost memberships to the PLRSO club! When someone they refer buys one of the offers, they earn a commission. And I get other people to promote and build my list for me. We all win.

Is that sawdust I hear burning?…

——————————————————-

What Kind Of “Announcement” List can I Build?

——————————————————-

There are a wide variety of “announcement” lists that you can build. Let’s briefly look at nine of them…

* PLR List. Swipe my idea, create your own list of private label rights buyers.

* New Offers List. Just what it says - a list a list of people who want to be notified of any new offers when they are available.

* Pre-Launch List. Send information out to this list to create buzz and anticipation for an upcoming new product release several weeks (even months) in prior to release.

* Ezine Publishers List. Build a list of publishers who want to know any time you have a new ezine article that is available for reprint in their ezines.

* Bloggers List. Allow bloggers who are looking for ready-made content to post to their blogs. “Announce” to them when you have new content.

* Industry News List. Every industry needs someone who has their finger on the pulse. You could become the “go to” guy or gal for breaking news about your industry.

* Joint Venture List. Everyone needs a list of partners and affiliates ready to promote your new offer anytime you have one.

* Incentives List. Here’s a great idea - create a list of people who you offer “incentives” to when they purchase someone else’s new product through YOUR affiliate link.

* Freebie List. Regularly give away rebrandable content (reports, articles, videos, etc.) to these subscribers to earn commissions.

While all nine of these lists aren’t necessarily “buyers” up front, they each can certainly lead to buyers and revenue for you if you implement them. Content is king. But let’s not forget that there are a lot of queens, princes, dukes and earls out there too.

Jimmy D. Brown, a much respected online marketing guru, has been fine-tuning what and how he teaches when it comes to Internet Marketing since 1999. You can benefit from those years of experience and also get full PLR rights to many of his best-selling products - at ridiculously LOW prices (I’m talking Ten Bucks). Run, immediately to his website

Building a Referral Machine for Your Company

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Ask any good business owner how he generates most of his business and he will instantly tell you that he does it through referrals. Ask him to explain his referral system to you and you are very likely to get a blank stare. Only this week I asked the vice president of two large companies what type of referral system they had in place. Both said, they didn’t, referrals just happen. So does death, but it doesn’t mean you should wait around for it!

Referrals are the life-blood of any good business. There is simply not a faster way to build your customer and prospect base and increase your companys revenue than to double or even triple your referral rate, but to make that happen you have to have an referral effective system to take advantage of this power yet never used correctly process!

The Psychology of referrals

Let’s start by looking at the psychology of referrals. The first fact you should know is that contrary to what many believe, most people actually like to give referrals. There are three reasons for this:

1) The first is ego. When someone buys something new he wants his friends and neighbors to be impressed. He wants them to know what a great deal he got. When was the last time you met someone who bought a new car and told you what a schmuck they were for buying it?

2) The second reason is that most people like to feel important, they like to be the center of attention or information.

3) The third reason is that people like their friends and neighbors to share and experience the same things they do!

Many people are bashful or just downright scared of asking for a referral. They dont want to seem pushy, desperate or, heaven-forbid, both. While I assure you that most people really do like giving referrals, you can make the process even more painless by re-framing the way you ask for a referral.

When a parent signed up a child for martial arts lessons at my karate school, I immediately went for a referral, but rather than asking outright that the student bring in some friends, I positioned it like this. Mrs. Smith, often when a child comes into the first class he can be a little tentative because he does not know anybody and everything is new. We have found that one of the best ways to counter this is to have him bring a couple of his friends into the first class with him. That way I can guarantee that he will settle right in, and, of course, there is no charge for his friends to take lessons with him while becomes more comfortable with the karate school.

Other such conversations might be: Who else at work would like to help out by sharing this opportunity with them before the prices go up? or Can I help anyone else in your business save time by employing this service or product? or, Who else can I help become a more productive part of your team?

How you actually phrase your request can make this entire process a lot easier. So can how you time it. The best time to ask for a referral is right after you have just completed a sale. This is the time when excitement and anticipation are always at the highest level.

The first commitment you must make to double your referrals is as simple as just asking for them. Not sometimes, not when you feel like doing it, not when you are having a really good day, not if you feel the customer likes you, but ask every single time in as many different ways as you can think of. There are seven key groups from which you can gain referrals;

1) Ask new customers to purchase again. The reason we get referrals is so that we can sell more products, right? Well, the very first thing to consider before we even start to work on the referral stage process, is, can we sell anything else to this new customer in front of us right now? Dental insurance to go with the newly acquired health insurance? Or some glasses to go with the new contacts they just bought?

2) Ask new clients who else might benefit even if your most recent customer doesnt want to buy something else from you, it’s almost certain that he knows someone who has similar needs. Everyone is an opinion leader to some group.

3) Ask non-customers for a referral Even when a sales presentation has not been successful, there is no reason why you should not ask for a referral. The landscaper who did my yard told me that he had contracted to do two new jobs each was worth almost $50,000, as a result of asking for a referral from two homeowners who had turned his bids down.

Simply say to your lead, I am sorry I do not seem to be able to meet your needs today. Who else do you happen to know who might be interested in a, whatever your companys product happens to be?” Notice that I did not ask if they knew anyone, for that almost always brings an instant NO response. I asked who else they knew, suggesting that there must be someone. It is a subtle difference that makes a huge difference in the response you will elicit.

4) Ask ex-customers - Just because a customer is an ex-customer does not mean he or she cannot or will not refer other people to your business. Always stay in contact with ex-clients; you never know when they might surprise you. I regularly get referrals from ex-clients who have since moved on to other things but still have friends or contacts in my industry.

5) Ask business suppliers for referrals. Remember, you buy goods and services from others. You are a good customer to someone. That someone should be glad to give you referrals. Be sure to remind your suppliers that you are always in the market for new leads.

6) Demand more referrals!

As a speaker I actually demand referrals from my clients by including a clause in my speaking contract that includes, as partial payment, the guarantee of two referrals for a job well done. As a result I have massively increased my referral base.

7) Acquiring referrals from your competitors. Competitors can often be a good source of referrals. Sometimes you just get a job that you do not want. Its too small or you and the prospect simply dont hit it off! In these types of cases, instead of letting the prospect bounce around to three or four more people, take the proactive approach and refer them to a company that can help them at once. They in return will refer people to your company!

When a customer gives you a referral that results in a sale, at the very least, you should send him a “thank you” note. Every time you thank a customer for a referral, you have the opportunity to repeat the cycle by asking for another referral. Always end each “thank you” communication, by asking if the customer knows of anyone else who might benefit from what you have to offer.

Make it easy to get referrals

When I sell one of my audio programs I often include postcards, fax sheets or reply cards to encourage an instant response and referrals for my programs. The easier you make it for other people to promote you and your business, the more they will do it. When I bring on a new partner to my golf management company I will send them multiple brochures and cds that they can give out to other people in the industry.

Referrals are the life-blood of any good business or service, but they work a whole lot more predictably and effectively when you develop and follow a system so that good leads don’t just slip through the cracks. Oh and if you know anyone who needs sales or marketing help refer them to me!

They’re loaded with opinions and notions, none of which they appear ready to act on. Shot in a free form fashion, and characterizing a big cast of nonprofessional entertainers. That’s author-director Linklater as the youthful guy in the taxi. Cast includes Richard Linklater. (97 minutes, 1991)

TRY or Rock: Neil Simon’s supreme comedy of embarrassment, adjusted from Bruce Jay Friedman’s small tale “A Change of Plan.” Jewish boy Grodin gets wedded to Berlin and meets an attractive WASP blonde Shepherd on honeymoon, and determines to shuffle plans. Very comical but relies on your point of view; prompted for maximum impact by Might. The Cast includes Charles Grodin, Cybill Shepherd, Jeannie Berlin, Eddie Albert, and Audra Lindley. (104 minutes, 1972)

From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil: Fanciful story of New Jersey babies Prager and Doran who conceal out in NYC’s Metropolitan Museum, building a fantasy planet and befriending recluse Bergman, seen too concisely. Blanche Hanalis adjusted E. L. Konigsburg’s novel. Cast includes Ingrid Bergman, Sally Prager, Johnny Doran, George Rose, and Madeline Kahn. (105 minutes, 1973)

Armgeddon: A meteorite is on a collision course for Earth. If it continues on course it will obliterate the planet. To avert total destruction there will be an attempt to land a shuttle on the asteroid, and try to blow it apart. Time is short, and the mission near impossible.

Indochine: Soap opera set contrary to partisan commotion in French Indochina throughout the 1930s. Deneuve plays a prosperous French landowner who’s brought up an orphaned Indochinese gal, and now should deal with the truth that she’s grown-and has a mind of her own. Fascinating historical factors set contrary to a captivating landscape, although tale is mainly tripe. Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Vincent Perez, Linh Dan Pham, Jean Yanne, Dominique Blanc, Henri Marteau, Carlo Brandt, and Gerard Lartigau. (155 minutes, 1992)

DysFunKtional Family: Noisy, raunchy amalgamation performance film-documentary spotlighting Eddie Griffin, performer/stand-up joke and wannabe Richard Pryor; he acts onstage and is seen in his Kansas City, Missouri, home city, with his genuine-life relatives. The humor is obtuse and disgusting; some can find it racist, chauvinistic, and homophobic, when others can think it comical. (89 minutes, 2003)

Inferno: Fleming plans to destroy her husband Ryan. The outcome of this plot is simply astounding. The movie produces excellent desert scenes. Cast includes Robert Ryan, Rhonda Fleming, William Lundigan, Henry Hull, Carl Betz, and Larry Keating. (107 minutes, 1953)
